marvellous Matariki kite!

What stories have you heard about Matariki?

Hello everyone! On the 2 July, we had celebrated the Māori new year to consider the year ahead, but we need to get through the Winter first. Matariki and the Pleiades star cluster, have got many stories attached to them. 

We looked at two; one about how Ranginui and Papatuanuku were separated by Tāne Malta, Creating the cluster of stars, Matariki, and another story about 7 sisters making kites, and them going to the sky.

 Ururangi’s kite was different from the rest, it was rainbow-colored. We have mixed these two stories to create the design of our kites. 

My kite I think has Tūmatauenga, and then I coloured it in sort of a rainbow like way.

Anyways, have you guys seen the constellation before, or how many stories have you heard about Matariki?

My Sumatran tiger report!

 

Hello everyone! Today I made this and I hope you guys like it. It was fun to research and find out there were Sumatran Tigers, and as well interesting to learn about them, anyway have you guys done a report of something before or have you guys seen a tiger in real life?

Hello everyone! Today I made this and I hope you like this. It was fun to make and interesting to see if it will work. We did however get into a bit of a tip, but we did get back up again, anyways have you guys done something like this before, or did you guys see an actual newspaper table?!

A matrariki print!

 Hello everyone! Today we did Matrariki foam printmaking. We had to draw a draft of what we were going to make first, we had to draw what our mountains were, mine was table mountain and, then we had to draw the Matariki stars in a spiral way and when we start doing the foam part we do it similar on what we did on our draft, we had to do them reversed because when we print them they won't in up being on the opposite way of the print, tho it was a bit hard to redraw this on the foam, but here is one of mine!

Hello everyone! Today for maths we had to create a robot on google drawings and share it with our teacher so they can print it, so we can do angles on the drawing. It was fun to make the robot and to do angles on it also the angles that I did on there was reflex, acute and obtuse, anyway, have you guys done something like this, or are you a fan of robots?
